Passage serves as the capstone of Stilllife's performing arts expansion — a major original production that demonstrates the organization's capacity not only to present existing art but to develop and produce new work of lasting significance. Passage is an original, full-length theatrical production developed through workshops and rehearsals and culminating in a limited run of performances in New York City, with a touring engagement to select partner venues in Asia, including Stilllife's partner cities of Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. The work is a devised production exploring themes of diaspora, cultural memory, and belonging, created collaboratively by a playwright, director, ensemble of performers, composer, and visual designer. The production integrates live music, projection design, and site-responsive installation elements, and is designed to be presented in both traditional theater spaces and gallery environments.
