Adirondack Performing Arts Center Appoints Tingwei Lin as Associate Director of Artistic Planning and Operations
Beyond Art Co-Founder Brings Interdisciplinary Arts Leadership to Ticonderoga’s Newest Cultural Institution
TICONDEROGA, NY — The Adirondack Performing Arts Center (APAC), administered by North Country Rural Development Coalition (NRDC), has appointed Tingwei Lin as Associate Director of Artistic Planning and Operations, effective June 2026. In this founding leadership role, Mr. Lin will shape APAC’s programming vision, build its artist relationships, and oversee the operational planning that will carry the institution from its pre-opening phase through its first three years of public programming at 103 Montcalm Street, Ticonderoga, NY.
APAC is a new performing arts center housed in a 242-seat hall on the third floor of a landmark building in downtown Ticonderoga. With intimate concert hall acoustics suited for chamber music, recitals, and small ensembles, the Center is designed to bring world-class artistry to the North Country while cultivating the region’s own artistic community. Mr. Lin joins APAC at a formative moment, contributing to the development of its artistic identity before its public doors open.

Fresh Energy for Ticonderoga’s Arts Community
Mr. Lin brings to APAC a production background rooted in both New York City’s interdisciplinary arts scene and the performing arts world of Taiwan. As co-founder and Producing Director of Beyond Art — the New York-based organization he established to center emerging and underrepresented artists in serious, well-resourced production contexts — Mr. Lin has developed deep expertise in artist engagement, curatorial development, and institutional partnership across disciplines including music, theater, and visual art.
His prior work as a concert producer at Opus Music Arts in Taiwan, where he coordinated over 25 concerts at major national venues including the National Theater and Concert Hall and Weiwuying National Performing Arts Center, gives him fluency in the operational demands of arts presenting at scale. As a fourteen-year erhu performer, he brings a musician’s sensibility to the relationship between artistic vision and production environment. He is well-suited to APAC’s mission of presenting meaning-driven performing arts to a community audience.

Grand Opening Gala: October 2027
APAC’s public debut is planned for October 2027, with a Grand Opening Gala Concert that will mark the Center’s formal introduction to the Ticonderoga community and the regional arts world. Lin is leading the planning and artistic programming for the Gala, which will feature a curated evening of classical, jazz, and local folk music followed by a public reception. The event is designed as a celebration of the Center’s founding and an open invitation to the community to become part of APAC’s story as founding audience members.
The Gala will seat up to 242 attendees in APAC’s main hall and mezzanine, and is expected to draw community members, regional arts partners, funders, and press. Lin’s advance work for the opening is already underway, encompassing artist selection, venue preparation, and the development of the broader inaugural season running through the 2027–28 programming year.
Jazz & Folk Series: Rooting APAC in North Country Tradition
Among the programming initiatives Lin is developing for APAC’s second year is the Jazz & Folk Series, a dedicated concert strand designed to broaden the Center’s audience base and celebrate the acoustic music traditions of the North Country. Launching in early 2029 with a three-concert inaugural season, the series will feature touring jazz artists and acclaimed folk musicians alongside regional performers, positioning APAC as a home for American roots music in the Adirondack region.
Target artists for the series include Grammy-nominated jazz bandleader Anat Cohen and Northeast-rooted folk artist Dar Williams, reflecting APAC’s commitment to programming that balances national artistic prestige with genuine regional relevance. Lin’s role encompasses the full arc of series development: from defining the artistic identity and target audience of the Jazz & Folk strand to booking, contracting, and on-site execution of each concert.
Dance Comes to Ticonderoga: BalletCollective’s “Dancing Between Waters”
In a landmark moment for the region, APAC will present BalletCollective’s “Dancing Between Waters” in 2029. It will be the first significant professional dance presentation in Ticonderoga’s recent history. Founded by choreographer Troy Schumacher, BalletCollective is recognized for its innovative approach to classical and contemporary dance, and its presence at APAC represents a meaningful expansion of the performing arts available to North Country audiences.
Mr. Lin is leading all planning and coordination for the engagement, including artist and company liaison, contract negotiation, technical production planning, and operational management for the performance evening. The presentation reflects APAC’s broader mission to make world-class artistry of every discipline accessible to the communities of the Adirondack region.

Mr. Lin’s appointment at APAC is consistent with Beyond Art’s commitment to building arts leadership that extends beyond New York City and engages with communities across the broader American arts landscape.
