A Triptych in Jazz
A Triptych in Jazz was conceived as an immersive, multi-sensory exploration of three distinct jazz traditions — Bossa Nova, Bebop, and Blues — presented not as isolated genres, but as interconnected artistic expressions.
Structured as a triptych, the production invited audiences to experience each musical language as part of a larger narrative arc. Rather than a conventional concert format, the evening unfolded as a curated environment: live performance, visual elements, and atmospheric design worked together to shape the audience’s journey through rhythm, improvisation, and emotional contrast.
Each segment highlighted the unique character of its genre — the warmth and fluidity of Bossa Nova, the intellectual intensity of Bebop, and the raw expressiveness of Blues — while emphasizing the shared roots of improvisation and dialogue that define jazz as an evolving art form.
By integrating visual storytelling and spatial design, A Triptych in Jazz sought to dissolve the boundary between stage and audience, creating a setting where music was not simply heard but experienced collectively.
The production furthered Beyond Art’s commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative curation, expanding how live performance can engage contemporary audiences.
